Largesso operates Gesso (a mobile app for viewing art) and Studio (a web tool for artists and curators to place work into Gesso). This policy describes what we collect, why, and how to remove it.

What we collect

In Gesso, we do not collect your email or your name. Gesso is anonymous: a random identifier lives on your device the first time you open the app and lets us record what you view, linger on, save, and dismiss. This is your taste profile, and it is the only basis on which Gesso recommends work to you. We do not record your location, your contacts, or any data outside the app.

In Studio, when you create an account we collect the email you sign in with and a display name you choose. We store the works, curations, commentary, and profile details you publish, plus any workspace drafts you have started but not yet published.

How your taste profile is used

Your taste profile is used only to recommend work to you within Gesso. It is not shared with other users, not visible to artists or galleries whose work appears in the app, and not used to train models outside of Gesso's own recommender. There is no "audience analytics" surface in Studio that reports your behaviour back to artists; artists see only counts of how many times their work has been shown and saved across the audience as a whole.

What we do not do

We do not sell your data. We do not run third-party ad networks. We do not track you across other sites or apps. We do not use cookies for advertising. The marketing site at largesso.com uses one first-party cookie to remember whether you have dismissed our cookie notice; we do not use any analytics that report identifying information.

Getting your data out

In Gesso, open the Profile tab → Account → Export your data. We hand the file to your browser at largesso.com/gesso/your-data. The file is a single JSON document containing your taste profile, your liked and saved works, your dismissed works, and your viewing history. No email is involved.

In Studio, open Settings → Account → Request export. We hand the file to your browser at largesso.com/studio/your-data. The file is a zip containing your profile, your published works, your curations, your workspace drafts, and the image files you have uploaded.

Deleting your account

In Gesso, open the Profile tab → Account → Delete account. We hand you off to largesso.com/gesso/delete for a confirmation. We remove your data within seven days; backups roll out within thirty.

In Studio, open Settings → Account → Delete account. We hand you off to largesso.com/studio/delete for a confirmation that asks you to type your account slug. We remove your data within seven days; backups roll out within thirty.
